How It All Works

1: Let’s Talk

First up, we’ll chat. Where are you rocking this suit? Boardrooms? Rooftops? Weddings where you are definitely going to give the groom a run for his money? We’ll get into your style, your vibe, and how your clothes need to work for your life.

And picking your fabric? That’s the fun part. Take your time, ask your questions, touch all the swatches you want. We specialize in sharp British and Italian cloth from the world’s most exclusive mills. (Yes, the ones other brands name-drop.)

2: Made Just for You

Once you’ve picked your fabric and details, we take over. Measuring everything, your posture, proportions, even that one shoulder that sits a touch lower than the other (don’t worry, we all have it on file).

Then we hand-draft a pattern just for you, which we’ll tweak and refine over a few fittings. The first suit takes a bit longer (quality isn’t rushed), but once it’s done, we keep that pattern on file for all time.

3: Cut It Out

Your fabric is laid out, chalked up, and cut by hand. No shortcuts, no machines doing the heavy lifting. Every piece—canvas, lining, buttons, etc.—gets bundled together, ready for the first stitch. Winding its way through the sartoria stitched piece by piece ready for your first fitting.

4: Baste Fitting

You’ll try on the first rough version of your suit—think of it as the blueprint coming to life. It won’t be perfect yet (that’s the point), but it’s where we start dialing things in. We’ll break down what’s working, what’s not, and what a dart actually is—so you’re not just nodding politely, pretending you knew all along.

Then? We take it all apart. Tweak it. Edit it. Rebuild it. This is where the magic happens. And no, you’re not being high-maintenance—this is exactly how real custom tailoring works.

Now, if the fit gods are on your side and your measurements are spot on, you might just skip this fitting altogether. Lucky you. But we’ll let the suit decide.

5: Forward Fitting: Almost There

Next, our sartoria team steps back in. These aren’t just ā€œmakers.ā€ They’re coat-making, trouser-shaping, waistcoat-whispering artists. Each one trains for years to master their craft. Every stitch, every seam, every single detail—done with passion.

This is your second try-on, and now it’s looking like the real deal. We’ll fine-tune the fit, add those finishing touches like handmade buttonholes, and check that you’re ready to take on the world in it.

6: The Big Reveal

Your suit is done. Final hand-press, final inspection, and ready for pickup—or delivery, if your calendar’s more packed than your closet.

And here’s the best part: your personal pattern is officially on file. So next time? Maybe a quick double check on measurements, just to be sure, no fuss, no guesswork. Just a faster, smoother process and tailored to excellence. The groundwork is done, the rest is just refinement.
